Community Clean Up Features Street Renaming Ceremony for “Sawa’s Hope Circle”
Prince George’s County Council Member Deni Taveras (D) – District 2, will join residents of the Takoma Branch Civic Association for a District 2 “Clean Up Green Up!” event on Saturday, April 28, 2018, 10:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m., beginning on the corner of Red Top Road and Fairview Avenue in Takoma Park, Maryland.
The Spring 2018 Prince George’s County “Clean Up, Green Up” event promotes green neighborhoods by bringing together members of the community to engage in a day of neighborhood beautification.
The District 2 community-wide event will feature a street renaming ceremony for Sawa’s Hope Circle. Formerly known as Greenbriar Avenue, Sawa’s Hope Circle is renamed in honor of District 2 resident Sawa Kamara and her advocacy for safer, cleaner neighborhoods in the community.
