[ARCHIVED] District 2 Council Member Deni Taveras Hosts Free Outdoor Summer Movie Series

Family-Friendly Outdoor Entertainment and Big-Screen Films Connect Community, Support Local Schools; Series Debut - Moana

Prince George’s County Council Member Deni L. Taveras (D) – District 2, in partnership with the Prince George’s County Department of Parks and Recreation and various District 2 Parent-Teacher Associations/Organizations, will host a free Outdoor Summer Movie Series throughout the months of July and August, showcasing a variety of animated and live-action blockbusters for families to enjoy under the stars.

The Free Outdoor Summer Movie Series debuts on the evening of Friday, July 12, 2019, at the Mount Rainier Nature Center, 47301 31st Place in Mount Rainer, Maryland, at 8:30 p.m. Proceeds from concession purchases will support local schools.

“Everyone is invited to experience our District’s free movies series,” said Council Member Taveras. “The opening film, Moana, celebrates culture and diversity, and is a direct reflection of our commitment to feature a variety of big-screen movies that are not only appealing and entertaining, but resonate with our multicultural residents and uplift our community.”

The Free Outdoor Summer Movie Series is scheduled for select Friday evenings during the months of July and August at 8:30 p.m. Events may be rescheduled due to inclement weather.
