Agenda Includes Housing,
Countywide Map Amendment and 2020 Census
The Prince George’sCounty Council convened the final day of its Annual Retreat today, January 22,
with a “Housing Opportunities for All” update, and discussions on the 2020Census Complete Count and the Countywide Map Amendment process. The two-day
meeting was held in the Terrapin Room, at The Hotel at the University ofMaryland, in College Park.
Council Members opened today’s session with a Housing Opportunities for All Strategy Workgroup update provided by Prince George’s County Department of Housing and Community Development Director, Estella Alexander; and Enterprise Advisors Director Chris Kizzie, and Program Director Laura Searfoss.
For a work session on
the Countywide Map Amendment for Zoning Ordinance, the Council welcomed ActingDeputy Director Derick Berlage; and Countywide Planning Division Master Planner
Chad Williams and Outreach Coordinator Brittany Drakeford and Project Manager Kierre McCune for a presentationfocusing on the proposed zoning map, community outreach and next steps. The work session was followed by a robust
discussion on the Census Complete Count, and ways to engage the community forfull participation in the 2020 Census.

The retreat concluded
with a discussion on parliamentary procedures and protocols, along with anadministration and communications overview.
