[ARCHIVED] COUNTY COUNCIL TO CONVENE VIRTUAL SESSION MARCH 17; EMERGENCY OPERATIONS RESOLUTION TO BE ADDRESSED

The Prince George’s County Council, aided by the use of technology, and in alignment with social distancing guidance provided by the Executive Branch and County Health Department, will convene virtually on Tuesday, March 17, 2020, at 12:00 Noon, for its regularly scheduled Council session. The General Assembly and District Council sessions scheduled for March 17th have been cancelled.

The Council is also expected to introduce an Emergency Council Resolution addressing significant adjustments to Council operations, sessions and committee meeting schedules, and alternative public participation for required meetings and operations resulting from the COVID-19 public health crisis.

Council Members and staff are practicing social distancing.  Thus, Council Members will take part in the Council session via in-person, or remotely with only essential staff present in the Council Hearing Room at the County Administration Building.

Effective March 16th, all County Government buildings are closed to the public.  The session will not be open for in-person public attendance; however, residents and media are encouraged to view the Council session live and on demand HERE.

The Council will continue to monitor the rapidly evolving coronavirus crisis and assess any need for additional schedule adjustments.
