COUNCIL MEMBER SYDNEY HARRISON AND VICE-CHAIR AND AT-LARGE COUNCIL MEMBER CALVIN HAWKINS PARTNER TO PROVIDE FACE MASKS FOR HEALTHCARE WORKERS
District 9 Council Member Sydney Harrison (D-District 9), and Vice-Chair and At-Large Council Member Calvin S. Hawkins, II, in partnership with nonprofit Masks 4 America; the Fort Washington Alumnae Chapter, Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc.; and Board of Health Advisor, Dr. Yolandra Hancock, are providing N95 equivalent protective face masks for healthcare workers and first-responders in Prince George’s County impacted by COVID-19.
As protective measures against the further community spread of the coronavirus (COVID-19), executive orders have been issued by Maryland Governor Larry Hogan and Prince George’s County Executive Angela D. Alsobrooks requiring face coverings in public places, especially where social distancing may be challenging.
Healthcare workers and first-responders around the country have welcomed donations of Personal Protective Equipment, including face masks, due to a shortage during the current global pandemic.
Council Members Harrison and Hawkins will distribute the donated masks on Tuesday, April 21,2020, at 12:30 p.m. to healthcare workers at the Greater Baden Medical Center, 7450 Albert Rd. in Brandywine, MD
