Council to Focus on Budget/Fiscal Outlook and COVID-19 Impacts During 2-Day Retreat

The Prince George’s County Council will hold its virtual 2021 Annual Retreat on Wednesday, January 6 and Thursday, January 7, 2021.  Sessions, which are scheduled to begin at 10:00 a.m. each day, are open to the public, and can be viewed live and on-demand  on the Council website.

Prince George’s County Council Chair Calvin S. Hawkins, II, says Council Members will address a number of critical issues during the 2021 Annual Retreat, including the “Challenges and Opportunities” presented by the COVID-19 crisis.

“While the County and the Council continues to face serious challenges related to the COVID-19 global pandemic, we are also presented with a wide range of opportunities related to how we might move forward and emerge from this crisis a stronger Prince George’s County. I look forward to an informative retreat and encourage residents to watch online for important updates and information addressing the needs of residents in the coming year and post-pandemic.“

During the two-day retreat, Council Members, County leaders, invited guests and staff will discuss  a variety of subjects, including but not limited to the 2021 County Budget and fiscal outlook; COVID-19 response and recovery; and the County’s legislative priorities during the 2021 General Assembly.
